Practically speaking, the list of science universities are endless, because more and more universities kept on fulfilling promises day by day.The importance of education to the development of a country cannot be overlooked. Below are the top science Universities in Nigeria in no particular order, they help in providing students a good learning experience in various science courses.
     5. ENUGU STATE UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE OF TECHNOLOGY (ESUT)
The University was established and founded in 1980 but was originally known as Anambra State University of Technology (ASUTECH). In 1991 with the creation of Enugu State from the old Anambra State the new government changed the name to ESUT. It is the first University of Technology and first state University in Nigeria and is said to be modeled after Harvard University.
The University was created to set up a means of making great advancements in technology to help the society, people and students. This can be seen in its motto which is “Technology for Service”. The University has four colleges which include:

  •  College of Agriculture
  • College of Applied Natural Sciences

          4.  FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY AKURE (FUTA)
 The University was founded in 1981and over the years has become one of the best University in technology. The school has grown a lot over the years leading to the school having about thirty departments.
The school states its mission is to provide a conducive environment for researching in order to promote technological advancement of goods important to the environment.
The University is particularly strong in the course of Biochemistry.
          3. RIVERS STATE UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (RSUT)
The University was first established as the Rivers state College of Science and Technology in 1972. It was later changed to Rivers State University of Science and Technology in 1980. It is the first owned state University in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. The motto of the University is “Excellence and Creativity”.

2. LADOKE AKINTOLA UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY (LAUTECH)
The University provides opportunities academically in various programs including Pure and Applied science, Health science, environmental science and engineering. The University has a fully established computerized library which helps and assists students as well as visitors to the University.
The University operates three academic programs which are pre-degree
science programme, undergraduate programmes and post-graduate programmes.

The University was founded in 1980. Its motto is “Technology for Service”. The school admits both undergraduates and graduates. The University

  •  School of Environmental Technology
  • School of Health Technology
  • School of Management Technology
  • School of Science
The University is particularly strong in courses like Microbiology and Physics.
