Leicester come home to the King Power stadium looking to turn around the poor form after the shocking 2-1 loss to Hull City last weekend. Despite Riyad Mahrez getting on the score sheet, the team didn’t deliver a strong performance in front of goal with Vardy, Gray and Musa missing some plain sitters in front of goal, and will need to turn around that come this week against Arsenal. Leicester will feel that the Arsenal defence is ripe for the taking after the numerous injuries that they are facing. The most interesting games from last year in the Premier League were the games between these 2 sides, as they were one of 2 teams to beat Leicester in the league and they in-fact did the double over Leicester last season and the Foxes will be looking for revenge coming on to this game.
Arsenal despite their defensive headaches which might continue into this week, really showed decent flow going forward. While they had the opening goal and then went 4-1 down; they came back to 4-3 to be within 10 minutes of securing a draw against Liverpool. Arsenal will be missing Iwobi and Ramsey from this weekend, and will replace them with Cazorla and Chamberlain to come in their place, both of whom showed great glimpses of form when they came off the bench. The defence will continue to remain shaky with the likes of Koscielny possibly coming back and partnering Chambers at the centre, which still leaves them vulnerable at the back.
Neither team is coming into this game with defensive security as Leicester have leaked 4 goals in their 2 competitive fixtures this season and 9 goals in 3 games during the International Champions Cup. On the other hand, Arsenal have conceded 4 last weekend to Liverpool while 5 goals in 5 pre-season games as well. I think both teams will be looking to attack the defence of the opposition who are lacking confidence, while their attacking prowess will be on display. I am backing both teams to score and over 2.5 goals in this fixture.
