How To Change Fonts And Writing Style On WhatsApp

You must have received WhatsApp messages from someone and the texts were having special fonts (bold, italics or strike). A friend of mine has asked me how I was able to write her name having a strike, and I’m sure you must think the same the first time you received a WhatsApp message with special fonts.

How To Change Fonts And Writing Style On WhatsApp

WhatsApp introduced the font and writing style to improve the way we chat. You can make a word or sentence bold, italicize or strike it.

This is how to use the feature:

Bold

To bold word(s) or sentences, for example, Mazino Oyolo Kigho, add the * character before and after it in this way: *Mazino Oyolo Kigho*. This will make the names bold.

Italic

To italicize word(s) or sentences, for example, Mazino Oyolo Kigho, add the _ character before and after it in this way: _Mazino Oyolo Kigho_. This will make the names italicized.

Strike

To strike word(s) or sentences, for example, Mazino Oyolo Kigho, add the ~ character before and after it in this way: ~Mazino Oyolo Kigho~. This will strike the names.

I’m quite sure WhatsApp will introduce more writing style and fonts as time goes on. Make sure you are using the updated WhatsApp version to use this features.
