Reporting from South African startups. Three (3) SA business strtups have graduated from the Startupbootcamp InsurTech‘s 2017 accelerator program, pitching to potential investors on Demo Day few days ago.The 3 months accelerator program is proportionally targeting at providing participants hands-on sessions, workshops, and masterclasses from experts that’ll help them grow into formidable forces in the business world.
Based on reported statistics, Over 2,500 startups from 43 different countries did applied to take part in the program. Unfortunately, only 23 startups where luckily selected for the program. 10 startups practically made it to the final, including South Africa’s Emerge Analytics, Aerobotics and NuvaLaw.
Emerge Analytics uses big data, artificial intelligence, and a scoring platform to solve complex business problems while Aerobotics gets better data analysis, via AI algorithms, in the agricultural, logistical, and mining industries using drone tech.
As for NuvaLaw, it has created a digital negotiation platform between motor vehicle insurers.
The startups received funding, mentorship, office space in the heart of London and access to a global network of investors and venture capitalists throughout the duration of the program.
The program has now come to end in a Demo Day on 26 April 2017 after three months, with the three startups, and the other finalists, pitching in front of over 500 investors, corporates, mentors and press attendees in London.
