In the same year, Pelé was elected Athlete of the Century by the IOC and TIME listed him among the 10 most influential people in the world.
In 2013, he received the FIFA Ballon d’Or Prix d’Honneurin in recognition of his career and achievements as a global icon of football.
He is said to be the most important football player in history scoring 1281 goals in 1363.
