Freenom gives free domain name registration for some extensions and charges for others. If you have registered a domain with Freenom either free or paid and you intend to use it on blogger.com, then this tutorial will guide you on how to redirect Blogspot on Freenom.
To begin, log into your dashboard at blogger.com
Click on Settings and click on Set up third-party URL for your blog.
Add your Freenom domain name and click save.
You will get an error: We have not been able to verify your authority to this domain. Error 12. You shouldn’t worry about it. What it means is that you need to add two CNAMEs to your Freenom domain and also add A record.
To complete the setup, go to your Freenom account. Click on Services > My Domains. On the next page, click on Manage Domain.
Click on Manage Freenom DNS.
Add the A records below one after the other.
After adding all the four A records, click on Save Changes.
The next step is to add the CNAMEs. Go back to blogger and copy the CNMAEs generated as shown below
Add them as shown in the screenshot below. After that click on Save Changes.
Go back to blogger settings and click Save.
Once you are done, go back to blogger and click on Save. After that, click on Edit.
Tick that box as shown below in the screenshot and save.
If you follow the above procedures closely, you should be able to redirect your blogspot to a custom domain with Freenom. If you find this tutorial useful, you can share with others who may need it.
