ICPC/NAVC SEEKS PARTNERSHIP WITH JAMB TO FIGHT CORRUPTION

The Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences/National Anti-corruption Volunteering Corps (ICPC/NAVC) has visited the Boards Kwara State Office recently to explore areas of cooperation and partnership in the war against corruption.

In his address during the visit, the Coordinator, ICPC/NAVC, Mr. Ahmed Abdullahi, sensitised the staff on the need to join hands in the fight corruption which is fast assuming alarming proportions in the country.

He said, “My organisation has been collaborating with the Board in the area of monitoring of examinations as intelligence agents, among others,” adding that “the fight against corruption should start from our homes, our family and us because charity begins at home.”

In her remarks, the Acting Coordinator of the State Office, Mrs. Abimbola Munirat Lawal commended the Coordinator for the advocacy visit saying that the fight against corruption is for everyone while enjoining staff to key into it.

In response to a question on what the body is doing to combat corruption at higher  levels, the ICPC/NAVC Coordinator said, “Actions are ongoing in that regard as it is a gradual process.”
